Owen W This album makes me think of Swans, if they were Native American. The funeral doom metal sound this project has done in the past does shine through here in the compositions (distort the guitars and rough up the vocals and the label would fit perfectly), but the sound is much more stripped back and less heavy, with more influence from post-rock and drone and a bit of folk. All of the songs are slow-burners, but patient listeners will find them very rewarding. Favorite track: Rise and Shine.
